Date of Update: May 2026
Reference Case: NetPosse ID #8806 – Searching for Horse: Currinara Diamond Tiara

Stolen Horse International provides the following update to the ongoing searching-for-a-horse report concerning the mare Currinara Diamond Tiara, also known as “Lioness.” This update is based solely on public court reporting and is published for informational purposes in connection with this case.

Irish Court Appearance Reported

According to reporting by the Irish Independent, an international showjumper, Michael Kearins (43), appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District Court in May 2026, where he was charged with handling a stolen horse.

The charge relates to the alleged handling of a horse identified in court as Currina Diamond Tiara, during a period between January 1, 2022, and May 25, 2022, within the State of Ireland. The charge alleges that the horse was handled knowing it to be stolen, which is a criminal allegation and has not been proven at this stage.

Mr. Kearins appeared before Judge Éiteáin Cunningham, and the court hearing addressed procedural matters only. The State objected to bail, and Mr. Kearins was remanded in custody to appear again before Sligo District Court via video link at a later date.

As with all criminal proceedings, Mr. Kearins is presumed innocent unless and until proven otherwise in a court of law.

Connection to NetPosse Case #8806

Stolen Horse International’s original report (NetPosse ID #8806) documents that Currinara Diamond Tiara, a Connemara mare foaled in 2018, was reported missing from a pasture in County Sligo, Ireland, in May 2022.

The report further states that:

  • The horse was later identified through microchip records
  • She was transported internationally and subsequently appeared in USEF-sanctioned competitions in the United States under the name “Lioness”
  • Irish authorities were notified, and the matter has involved cooperation across jurisdictions

The court charge referenced in the Irish Independent article corresponds chronologically and by horse identification to the mare listed in this NetPosse report. The court has not yet made any findings of fact, and the proceedings remain active.
