A Sad Update on Bird: Search Brought to a Close

Stolen Horse International would like to share an update regarding DJ ROWDY JEWELS BABY, aka Bird, the horse who was recently reported missing and initially feared stolen.

It is with deep sadness that we confirm Bird has been found deceased.

Bird’s owner, Bailee McIntosh, contacted NetPosse to inform us of the outcome and to request that the search be concluded. There is no evidence of foul play, and the circumstances surrounding Bird’s passing are not believed to be criminal in nature. Out of respect for Bailee and due to the traumatic nature of the discovery, further details will not be shared.

Bailee shared the following message with the community:

“We found the horse dead today. No foul play. You can cancel the search. I would like you to update the post, but how we found her is honestly too traumatic to repeat. Thank you for all your help. It’s been so hard, but you’ve made it a little easier. Thank you for the good work you do.”

Bailee also posted the following statement on her personal Facebook page to update those who had been helping search for Bird:

“Since everyone’s been looking as hard as I have, I figured I’d break the news.
We found Bird today. She somehow managed to fall into a drainage ditch and has now passed away.
We don’t know much as to how it happened, but we do know it was quick, and for that I’m thankful.

I love her very much, and anyone who knew her will miss her. She was so special and so well-loved. She had a bright future and a big purpose. To say she will be missed is beyond an understatement.
Sometimes life just deals you a hand you don’t want to be dealt.
I’m just thankful that for her short life, she knew nothing but kind hands, a full belly, and big open pastures.

Thank you, everyone, for dedicating your time to helping me search. I appreciate every single one of you, and I will never forget the kindness shown by this community.

Enjoy God’s greenest pastures, sweet girl, and say hi to my others. You were gone far too soon, but you were also far too good for this world. You will be missed.”

The outpouring of help and compassion shown for Bird and her owner is a powerful reminder of the strength and kindness within the equine community.
