Every day, countless horses suffer and die at the hands of the very people who are supposed to care for and protect them. Physical violence, emotional abuse, and life-threatening neglect are daily realities for many. Their only hope is that a kind person will speak up before it's too late. It is important to note that several of the horses alleged to be involved in this case, involving Kathrin Bolton, her 'sanctuary,' and officers, started with a report filed with Stolen Horse International by Paula Vrana, who had three missing Lippet Morgan horses who disappeared in transport in Bolton's care.

Bolton told Vrana that her horses died in a tornado in Broken Bow. Vrana later found the two mares were alive on Bolton's property in Broken Bow. Ike, the Lippett Morgan stallion, is still missing.
