How to File a Horse Report with Stolen Horse International (NetPosse)

When a horse is stolen, time is critical. Stolen Horse International (NetPosse) provides a centralized, global reporting system that helps broadcast alerts, mobilize the equine community, and assist law enforcement in recovering stolen horses and equine equipment.

If your horse has been stolen, follow the steps below to submit an official report through our website.

Step 1: Visit Our Website

Open your web browser and go to: www.netposse.com

This will take you to the homepage of Stolen Horse International.

Step 2: Click “File a Report”

From the main menu at the top of the page, select: File a Report

You will be taken to our secure online reporting form.

Important: Do not start a new report for updates. Always log into your NetPosse profile and reopen your existing report to add information, photos, or changes. Your active (paid) report will appear inside your profile. Select that same report each time you need to update it.

Step 3: Complete the Report Form

Provide as much accurate and detailed information as possible, including:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Horse’s name, breed, color, age, sex, height, and markings
  • Microchip, brand, registration, or tattoo information (if applicable)
  • Clear photos of the horse
  • Date, time, and location of the theft
  • Circumstances surrounding the incident
  • Law enforcement agency and case number (if already obtained)

The more details you can provide, the stronger your alert will be.

Step 4: Submit Your Report

Once all required fields are completed, click Submit.
Your report will be received by the Stolen Horse International team for review.

Step 5: Watch for Confirmation

After submission, you will receive a confirmation email. Please save this email for your records—it contains important information related to your case.

What Happens Next?

Once your report is reviewed and approved:

  • Your case will be entered into the NetPosse database
  • Alerts may be distributed through our extensive networks
  • Your case becomes part of a centralized system used by law enforcement, auction houses, rescues, and equine professionals worldwide
