How to File a Quick Alert on NetPosse.com

A complete, updated guide based on SHI’s official Quick Alert System

Stolen Horse International (SHI), also known as NetPosse.com, introduced the Quick Alert System in 2025 to give victims a fast way to get immediate visibility through SHI’s main Facebook page — without filing a full NetPosse Report.

Below is the full process and all key details.

1. Go to the NetPosse Website

Visit www.netposse.com and locate the Quick Access tool.
This tool is specifically designed for filing Quick Alerts. [netposse.com]

2. Open the “Quick Access” Tool

This feature allows you to quickly submit information about a missing, lost, or stolen horse, pet, or piece of equipment.
It is separate from the traditional File a Report system. [netposse.com]

3. Enter Your Information

Complete the Quick Access form with:

  • Description of the animal or item
  • Photos
  • Last known location
  • Contact information
  • Any additional details helpful for identification

NetPosse will post exactly what you submit, with no changes or verification. [netposse.com]

4. NetPosse Posts the Alert on Facebook

Once submitted:

  • NetPosse creates and posts your alert on its main Facebook page:
Stolen Horse International – NetPosse Missing and Stolen Equine
  • This gives your alert credibility and visibility on a page with substantial reach. [netposse.com]

5. Share the Post Widely

Quick Alerts are not shared by the NetPosse team and not distributed through their official network.
Instead, success depends entirely on:

  • You
  • Your friends
  • Local community groups
  • The equine public

Quick Alerts rely 100% on public sharing after posting. [netposse.com]

Important Clarifications About Quick Alerts
(All additions included as requested)

  • Quick Alerts are not added to the NetPosse.com website as reports.
They do not appear on the website, do not generate a flyer, webpage, or case listing, and do not operate like a traditional NetPosse alert.
  • Quick Alerts are not part of the NetPosse Database system.
They do not enter the searchable database, do not receive a case number, and are not indexed or archived like standard NetPosse reports.
  • Quick Alerts are not shared through the NetPosse Alert Network.
NetPosse does not circulate them through email lists, volunteer networks, law‑enforcement connections, or social media channels (other than their one Facebook post).
  • All Quick Alert posts remain solely on Facebook and rely on public sharing.
Once SHI publishes the alert, community members must do the rest. There is no additional support, follow‑up, or distribution provided by SHI. [netposse.com]

Summary
A Quick Alert is the fastest way to get public visibility for a missing or stolen horse, animal, or piece of equipment, but it:

  • Appears only on Facebook
  • Is not verified
  • Is not placed on NetPosse.com
  • Is not added to the NetPosse database
  • Is not shared through the NetPosse network
  • Fully relies on public sharing for visibility

It is best for immediate outreach, while a traditional NetPosse Report is best for long‑term visibility, documentation, and professionally managed distribution.
