IMMOKALEE, FL - The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person or persons who butchered a horse in Golden Gate Estates.
Whip, a beloved horse died Friday between midnight and 5 a.m. after someone broke through a neighboring fence on Immokalee Road and Rock Road and butchered him, according to a news release from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
Whip, who the Dorias have had for about nine years, was a performance horse. He raced barrels almost every weekend, Jamie Doria said.
The family is offering a large reward for any information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for Whip’s death.
