Note: The theft numbers in this study were based on a study done by a research group in the state of Texas in the late 1990's. Debi Metcalfe nor Stolen Horse International know the numbers of theft today or of another study that has been done since that study. The numbers could be more or less now but either way, horse theft and is a real threat to many horse owners each year.
