MISSING BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN: Never Stop Searching

Image

When a horse goes missing, the initial search is a whirlwind of urgency. But what happens when weeks turn into months, or years? For many families, the world moves on—but at Stolen Horse International-NetPosse Missing and Stolen Equine, we believe that time should never erase hope.

That is why you frequently see our Cold Case Alerts in your feed.

Why a "Cold Case" is Never a "Closed Case."

A horse missing for 5, 10, or even 15 years is still out there somewhere. Over time, situations change:

  • Horses change hands: A horse may have been sold multiple times to unsuspecting buyers who have no idea its original owner is searching for it.
  • New eyes see the post: Our network grows every single day. Someone who just joined our community today might recognize a distinct marking, a brand, or a scar on a horse in their local stable.
  • Leaks and confessions: Relationships change, and sometimes people who kept a secret years ago are finally ready to speak up.

The Markings Hold the Key

In our Cold Case Reviews, we ask you to look at the photos with fresh eyes. Don't look at how long the horse has been gone—look at the distinct identifiers:

Unique freeze or hot brands

  • Specific white markings on the face or legs
  • Distinctive scars, whorls, or conformation traits

Our Promise: Longevity and Perseverance

Our brand is built on a simple promise to victims of equine theft: We do not give up. Our organization’s longevity means we have the infrastructure to keep files open for decades. We do it because we deeply care about every single horse, and because we know that a single share today can solve a mystery from years ago.
