Debi Metcalfe Speaks at AmerEquine - Festival of the Horse in TX

Shelby, NC – May 17, 2012 – Stolen Horse International  is pleased to announce that Stolen Horse International /NetPosse.com founder Debi Metcalfe  will be a featured clinician at the AmerEquine – Festival of the Horse Exposition, June 1–3, 2012 at the historic Will Rogers Memorial Center in Ft. Worth, TX.  Plan ahead! Don’t miss it!

In the process of solving her own crime and compiling her research, Metcalfe has become a recognized authority in her field. She has appeared on television and various radio programs, in newspaper and magazine articles, and addressed civic groups and horse expo audiences. She is the author of Horse Theft. Been There—Done That, columnist and writer.

With the assistance of NetPosse volunteers, Metcalfe has helped recover hundreds of stolen horses, tack and trailers within the United States and internationally, while also providing educational programs that have changed the way the horse industry views horse theft in the 21st century.

“It is our hope that through education, which includes the NetPosse Alerts, that we help horse owners protect themselves, their horses and their tack from disappearing in a variety of ways; theft, disaster, escapees, lost, etc.  If the worst does happen and the right preventative measures have been followed, owners have a greater chance of finding their horses or other items.” says Metcalfe.

During the clinics, Metcalfe will be focusing on how to develop farm security for horses and recovery tips when they are missing; all based from true life experiences with victims she has helped for over 13 years. She will also review traditional methods of identification, explaining the pros and cons of each one.

The new NetPosse.com web site has had more than 8,048,635 page views since it launched in February 2011,  proving that horse owners want to learn more about the predators that lurk among us in the horse industry.

Members of the global equestrian community voted Stolen Horse International, aka NetPosse.com, as the winner of the “Best Use of Social Media in North America” in the Equestrian Social Media Awards! Stolen Horse International also won third for “Best Use of Social Media by a Charity and Best Use of Facebook.”

AmerEquine is the new foal in the paddock of horse-related events for 2012, and it comes with an entirely original concept for promoting and enlarging the client base for horse-related activities and businesses. AmerEquine will combine what has come to be intuitively described as “equine-educational” with top-tier concerts, equine experts, and other entertainments–all at one expo.

The educational roster includes Craig Cameron, Tim McQuay and Tom McCutcheon, two of Texas’s best, Sylvia Zerbini,  Becky Hart, Aaron Ralston and champion trick roper, Doug Smith. Those appearing in concert will be Emmylou Harris, America’s Sweetheart of the Rodeo; Riders In The Sky, “America’s Favorite Cowboys”; and Don Edwards, “America’s Favorite Cowboy Balladeer.” And especially well-represented is the traditionally horse-culture-based music of bluegrass and old-time tunes by three groups who all have champion horse competitors in them:  Jimmie Dale Gilmore & the Wranglers, featuring distance racing sponsor and rider, Warren Hellman; Heidi Clare & AtaGallop, featuring World Champion Ride ‘n’ Tie rider/runner, Heidi Clare; and Dry Branch Fire Squad, featuring multiple champion competitor and trainer, Ron Thomason. All these premier performers have literally kept horses in the very fabric of their songs.
