THERMAL, Calif. (NetPosse News) — Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the theft of a high-value horse from a rural property in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Thermal, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies with the Thermal Sheriff’s Station East Rural Crime and District Team began investigating the case Nov. 26 after receiving a report of a horse stolen from a ranch in the 56000 block of Monroe Street. Investigators determined that a bay thoroughbred mare valued at about $80,000 had been taken from the property.
Two suspects were later identified, and on Dec. 22, deputies arrested Zachery Cobbs, 22, and Cinderella Von Falkenhausen, 27, both of Temecula, the sheriff’s department said.
The pair was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of grand theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Authorities said the investigation remains active and efforts are continuing to locate and recover the stolen horse.
No additional details were released. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy F. Lopez of the Rural Crime Team at the Thermal Sheriff’s Station at 760-863-8990.
