LINCOLN, Neb. October 15, 2012— A Lincoln woman who the sheriff's office says tried to sell her neighbor's horse trailer on craigslist now stands accused of theft.
The scheme started to unravel Saturday when a prospective buyer from Iowa came to look at the trailer and met with the confused owner, who said it wasn't for sale.
They contacted law enforcement.
Lancaster County Sheriff's Capt. Gary Juilfs said the man who had come to Lincoln to buy the horse trailer agreed to wear a recorder and try to meet the seller who posted the online ad, trying to sell the Ponderosa four-horse trailer for $2,000.
After a meeting Saturday, deputies arrested Victoria Hebron, 57, of 8105 W. O St., on suspicion of theft.
