COOKEVILLE, July 31, 2011-- Police said a horse was stolen out of the owner's field last week.
The horse is white with a red face and a red spot on his belly. The horse is valued at $500.
On the night of July 26, according to a report by Cookeville Police Officer Justin Long, a white stallion belongs to a man who lives on East Spring Street was stolen.
The owner of the stallion told Officer Long that night he heard whistling coming from the field where he kept two horses around 10 p.m..
The report says, "He said he could not see anyone in the field, but when he checked on July 27, he was missing his white stallion. He said he had checked with his neighbors and they also had heard the whistling, but could not see anyone or a vehicle in the field."
The report says one of the entrance gates to the field was found open on July 27.
