We support all types of equine ID at Stolen Horse International. Freeze branding is a great way to have a visible ID on a horse. It is also a visible detterrent.  However, many people do not register their brands in many of our states. It is also hard to trace if the horse of a registered brand moves out of the state of registration. 

We highly recommend this method  but also encourage you to use another traceable ID like a microchip, which can be registerd in national registries with the microchip companies.

Stolen Horse International does have a national registry for all types of ID for a horse, the NetPosse Identification Program, NIP.  We do recommend that you register your brand in your state and your microchip with the microchp company first.
