Two Horses Stolen in Tulsa County, Oklahoma – Public Urged to Help Locate Hope and Rainy
Tulsa County, OK — Authorities and a national equine recovery organization are asking for the public’s urgent assistance in locating two stolen horses, Hope and Rainy, taken from the Tulsa County area. The case has been filed with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office under Case #TCSO‑26‑08623. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at(918) 596‑5601.
The owner, Jennifer Hastings, is working closely with Stolen Horse International, also known as NetPosse, a nonprofit organization that serves as the “lost and found” of the horse industry. Since 1997, NetPosse has helped reunite horse owners with missing and stolen horses by mobilizing a nationwide network and distributing alerts through social media, email, and its online database.
Hastings expressed the emotional toll this theft has taken: “Pretty devastated. Every day they aren't found, I'm getting more hopeless. I'm so worried about Rainy because she's off her meds and does not tolerate heat well.”
When asked by Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International, what the horses mean to her, Hastings said, “I always wanted horses as a child, but we couldn't afford them. I got Rainy in my 30s and Hope about 7 years ago. They have been my comfort after losing my mom and my brother.”
She also described the impact of the theft: “When we realized what happened last week I felt sad and scared for how they must be feeling. I'm so worried about Rainy being off her medications. We are the only owners Hope has ever known, and she must be terrified. We haven't slept well since they were taken and I cry multiple times a day. I'm willing to give anything to get them home safely. They are my babies.”
Due to the nature of horse theft, Hope and Rainy could already be anywhere in the United States. Horses can be quickly transported across state lines and resold, making rapid awareness and widespread sharing critical to recovery efforts.
Detailed information, photos, and printable flyers are available on their official NetPosse webpages:
“These alerts act like an Amber Alert for horses,” representatives from Stolen Horse International say. “The faster the information spreads, the more people are watching, and the better the chance they will be recognized and returned safely.”
The public is encouraged to:
Flyers remain one of the most effective recovery tools, helping reach people who may not be online and often generating critical leads.
Stolen Horse International emphasizes that every share and every flyer matters. Their efforts have helped recover horses weeks, months, and even years after they were taken, demonstrating that continued visibility is key. [CodeInterpreter | Undefined]
Anyone who believes they have seen Hope or Rainy, or who has any information about their whereabouts, is urged to contact the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office immediately or submit a tip through the NetPosse website.
