Christmas memories of childhood long ago are treasured, and missed by us all. It didn't matter that our family was short on cash or material things. We didn’t seem to notice. As children we drooled over the Sears and Roebuck mail-order catalog for weeks before Christmas, making out our wish list. We sat up on Christmas Eve as long as our eyes stay open, hoping to get a glimpse of the big man in the chimney.
More important than the gifts, however, was the magic of the season and the family get-togethers. Those mean more to me today than one could ever measure, especially now that so much of my family is no longer here, spread about the world or sadly just too busy in the hustle and bustle of life.
I too was busy when I opened up this email today, so much to do indeed! I started listening as I typed on the keyboard and very soon my fingers stopped. I sat back in my chair and listen…and remembered.
So, take a moment out of your busy day and join me and Stolen Horse International / NetPosse.com for visit down memory lane to a real old-fashioned Christmas of long ago via Mayberry, with Andy and Opie.
And to my old friend from my old home town who sent this to me, thank you for taking me home for Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!
