HORSE ATTACK - Chance, a horse in SC shot three times

26 July 2020

GREENVILLE CO., SC– A Greenville County family is pleading for answers after their beloved pet horse was shot and killed. The owners of a horse in Greenville County, South Carolina, found the animal dead from several gunshot wounds on November 16, 2019.

Chance went missing on Friday, and, at first, the Petersons thought maybe he had gotten lost or died of natural causes.

They spent the whole weekend looking for him, and when they finally found him, they never expected to see what they saw.

Brandon Peterson says on Facebook on November 16, 2019, the following.

"It's been an awful evening! We have looked for Chance since yesterday and we found him dead tonight. Some idiot shot him 3 times with a rifle in his pasture! We are offering a $1000 reward for anybody that can help us find who did this! He was killed off of keeler mill rd and old plantation rd in Travelers Rest! PM me if you hear anything!"

Deputies are also investigating the stabbing of a horse who was found “standing in the road, bleeding heavily and suffering multiple cuts” on Oct. 31, according to the Greenville Sheriff’s Office.

The Petersons are now offering a reward for any information that could help them find the person who shot their horse.
