Sad news: This is not the post we had hoped to make once we realized Tater was missing. We found Tater last night buried under old hay near our fence line, deceased. We don’t know how long he’s been deceased, we aren’t sure how or why he passed, and even more confusing, we aren’t sure why or how he came to be buried under old hay. There wasn’t a bale of hay that could have rolled or fallen on top of him, the hay wouldn’t have washed down on top of him from where it sat on the ground. He was buried under quite a bit of old, wet hay. We have examined his body throughly and have not found any obvious wounds or injuries. Unfortunately due to the length of time he’s been deceased, a necropsy is not an option. Thank you everyone who helped us look for Tater, who helped share our posts, who volunteered to spend money on search dogs/horses, and to everyone who was praying for his safe return.
