Description: Tempest came into the care of a rescue through a Navajo County Animal Control seizure/forced surrender. The individuals in possession of the mare were unable to provide any information regarding her history, previous ownership, name, purchase records, transfer documents, or other identifying information. They reported having possessed her for approximately two years prior to Animal Control’s involvement.
Whenever we receive a horse under these circumstances, we make every effort to determine whether the horse may have been previously reported missing or stolen. Based on examinations by both our veterinarian and equine dentist, her estimated age is approximately 26 years. She does not have a lip tattoo. There appears to be a mark on the left side of her neck that may be an old tattoo or scar tissue; this is still being evaluated.
