Found Horse Near Orrville, OH, 44691

Description: Recently, we came across reports on Facebook about a horse wandering freely for several days. Thankfully, a friend of mine and her group were able to catch him and safely secure him in their round pen. With bad weather on the way and no shelter available, she reached out to see if anyone could provide a temporary home for him until his owner is found. I'm happy to share that our 501(c)(3) Equine Sanctuary stepped up to care for him.

Though he is a bit skittish, we were able to bring him here with great care. He has a distinctive Diamond bar brand on his left stifle and appears to be a Quarter Horse. He’s barefoot, a lovely liver chestnut color, and while he looks a bit thin and shaggy right now, I suspect he was in better shape before whatever happened to him.

We also noticed a remnant of an auction house sticker on his upper right hip, but he’s still a little too nervous for us to get close enough to gather more information. My friend has reached out to all four local auction barns dealing with low-end or kill sales, but sadly, none have claimed him. I've also shared his details in various lost pet and equine groups to help reunite him with his owner.
