Name: Spruce Lily Species: Horse Breed: Thoroughbred Description: I sent lily down to blue hollow farm mount airy, north carolina. We had an arrangement with the farm owner and a woman who claimed to be his wife. They presented themselves as a licensed horse rescue. Horses that went down before lily for the first year and a half they were there seemed to have a legitimate situation. This is why there seemed to be no reason to worry about sending more horses. Up until about 2 months ago I still didn't realize there was a problem. The wife had stopped answering and returning phone calls. That's when we started to worry. It was not until a woman who owns a stable on long island sent one of her horses down in late December that we realized there was a problem. The shipper did not feel comfortable leaving the horse there so they took the horse back and looked further into the situation. They came to realize that there were no horses on the property. Without being able to contact the man or wife at this point, I have no idea where lily or any of the other horses that were sent down to her would be. In total there were about 13 horses from long island that were sent down and are now missing. Because most of them were so long ago and due to lack of funds most of those people will not file a report.
