Jewelie was recovered on 1/9/08, late in the night. The suspects were given 24 hours to return her or go to jail. She was dropped off at a horse park six hours later. She is stiff and sore from lack of care and probably being overused, and she's 150 pounds underweight.
Now Jewelie can begin to heal, but interestingly, she had some other physical differences.
Whoever stole Jewelie attempted to disguise her as a bay by dyeing her mane, tail and legs black! It will take a while to grow out, but it's the physical injuries that need to heal.
