MISSING EQUINE Tucker, Near Penrose, CO, 00000

NetPosse Report ID # : 958 (904)
Description : I am an out of state horse owner. I am in the Navy and I have been boarding my horse and my ex stepfathers property while I was at sea. I found out on the 15th of March 2004 that my horse along with six others had been taken from his property by the state for malnutrition. I had no idea what was going on. When I would call to check up on how Tucker was doing I was told he was healthy by several people in that household. We got in touch with the police officer on the case and was told that the horses had been sold after they were cared for for thirty days. The sheriffs office said that this case wasn't considered horse theft. The brand inspector on the case said the when asked, the property owner stated that all of the horses were his. It sounds like there is no law to protect me in this matter. Had I known the horses were going through this I would have yanked as many as I could have out of there. I have no Idea what to do now. I have had him for 14 years and I don't want to loose him like this. I am in the process of obtaining the brand inspection number from the state brand inspector and also the auction date and location.
