Description : Was being leased by a girl named (contact Melissa for this info) ; may have been illegally sold to a woman in Orange County, Virginia We were living in Virginia and my husband joined the military and was assigned duty at Fort Drum, NY. We agreed to a 1 year lease with lessee, then I would ship him to NY. My "horse" friends in VA even went to visit him for me to make sure he was OK. Well, before the year was up, we were assigned to Alaska. Lessee agreed to a 3-year extension, even offered to purchase him if I needed to sell. Things were going great for them, she was showing and doing very well and the cost to ship him to Alaska all factored in to the lease extension. We emailed back and forth, called each other. Last time she called she said she needed to move him to a woman's place in Orange County. And then all the sudden- nothing. No replies. I've emailed her, written her letters, etc. I called the local (Charlottesville) police and they said they really couldn't do anything because I was in Alaska and I had to come to VA and then they really weren't sure what they could do. I've had friends scouring shows, 4-H events, etc but so far nothing. I just happen along your website and though maybe that would help. I have a copy of the lease but my scanner is broken- I can get to the local Office Depot and have it copied. About 4 years ago while lessee was showing him, he was diagnosed with a sweating disorder- anhirrosis (my spelling is off) She had to give him epinephrine shots during the summer if he got too heated up.
