Description : When I got married, I had to leave my gelding here in Oregon. My husband was stationed in California. We had to wait till the base stables had room. We sent board every month. The owners of the stables had asked me if he was for sale, several times. They said he looked exactly like the champion Arabian they had many years before. I had told them NO on several occasions, then I was even told a few times that I should just sell him, since I was out of state. I told them that I was on a waiting list and that he would come to me as soon as he was up. After a while, we stopped talking. We kept sending board for my horse. When my husband got out of the Marine Corps, we went to the barn to see Rock. He was gone. The other boarders had told us that he had been gone for many months, that the owners sold him. They all were under the impression that I had known. The owners of the stables never answered the door when I went to talk to them. The police said that there was no way to get him back and a report was just a waste of time. I was told "just buy another horse".
