This morning, deputies responded to reports of a horse on I-75 just north of #Micanopy...we got him safely corralled - but he either fell out of a trailer and/or was hit by a vehicle before we could get to him and get him on our Rural Services Deputies' trailer on over to Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic, https://www.facebook.com/SpringhillEquine/.
He's there now, getting treated for some road rash and hopefully no more than bumps and bruises - he clearly belongs to someone, and we'd love to get them reunited. He'll be cared for until then, and if you have information about him you can either contact our Combined Communications Center at 352-955-1818 or Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic directly. We look forward to sharing an update once he's home, safe and sound.
For our partners at and those that follow the Marion County Sheriff's Office as well, just in case he lives down there... Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Facebook link: https://bit.ly/2rgpzRz

We talked to several people and now know the history of this horse and the hands that have been in "Teddy Bear''s" life. The Alachua County Sheriff''s Office is now sorting this out and we will be watching to see who actually gets him in the future. Thank you to all who have talked with us. It is good to know he is safe and most likely will be in the future. How he came to be on the side of the road is yet to be determined.

We''ve made progress on the past ownership history of "Teddy Bear". Hopefully law enforcement will sort it out and we''ll have an update. Thanks to everyone who has shown an interest in Teddy. He is presently being well cared for and we so hope he continues to do well.
