I threw hay as always, but he wasn't at the gate to meet me, which didn't strike me as too odd since there have been times he's been at the very back and came up later, but when I came back from church and he still wasn't there, I got concerned. I called him and nothing. We had to run out of town that afternoon; husband assured me he thought Mav would come up while we were gone, but we drove around our immediate area looking for him before we left. We returned home about 4:30pm and the hay I threw was untouched. My husband and I split up and started searching for him on foot. We saw plenty of hoof prints and piles of manure in the woods, but no sign of Maverick. As of writing this (10/15/18 a.m.) he still hasn't come up and his hay is still untouched.
