SEARCHING FOR HORSE Hill City Miss, Near Umatilla, FL, 00000

NetPosse Report ID # : 1108 (1128)
Description : Hill City Miss was purchased by Mary Johnson from a TB race trainer at Beulah Park racetrack in early December 2007, to prevent her from going to Sugarcreek auction. In late December 2007, Mary donated Hill City Miss to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. Hill City Miss was adopted from New Vocations (contact Mary for adopter’s name) around the 18th of January, 2008. Adopter is a small breeder in Umatilla (Ocala area), Florida, and owns a ranch. Adopter planned on using Hill City Miss as a broodmare. Under the contract signed by adopter, updates had to be provided to New Vocations at 3 months, 9 months, and a final 12 month update. An update was received by New Vocations in September of 2008, but no final update was ever received. Adopter did state in the 9 month update that Hill City Miss hadn't "taken" and she was going to be used as a trail horse. When no final update was received in early 2009, New Vocations contacted Adopter many times and he finally admitted that Hill City Miss was sold to "someone" during October or November 2008, timeframe. He doesn't know the adopter's name, phone number, address, etc. The adopter may have wanted to use Hill City as a polo pony, but that is not certain. In December 2009, approximately 11 months after the update was due, New Vocations contacted an attorney since Adopter breached his contract with New Vocations and is unable to provide them with information as to where she is currently located. Mary Johnson is focused on trying to locate her through networking and posting on the Internet. Although we don't know this for sure, we think that Hill City Miss may have been sold to a dealer. Adopter has told many "stories" and is very argumentative when questioned about this horse even though he sold her BEFORE the end of the contract. One story was that Hill City had been sold to someone from Argentina to be used as a polo pony, but we feel that, if she is still alive, she is in the southeastern United States. However, nothing is for sure with Adopter
