Stolen Horse International Releases Christmas Video Featuring Templeton Thompson

Stolen Horse International (NetPosse) is proud to present its annual Christmas video, once again set to the soul-stirring music of singer-songwriter Templeton Thompson. This holiday tribute combines the "hippie chic cowgirl's" emotive vocals with the images of missing and stolen horses, offering hope to owners waiting for their loved ones to return home.

A "Hippie Chic Cowgirl" with a Song in Her Saddle

Templeton Thompson is not just a Nashville recording artist; she is a lifelong horsewoman who describes herself as a "hippie chic cowgirl". Her career creates a bridge between the music row elite and the equine world. A top-tier session vocalist who has sung for superstars like Reba McEntire, Templeton has also carved out a unique niche writing songs specifically about the bond between horses and humans.

Her songwriting process is deeply personal, often sparked by her own "herd," which includes her celebrated Quarter Horse, Jane. Jane is so beloved she was immortalized as a Breyer model horse—an honor Templeton jokingly calls her "Grammy in the horse world". Whether inspired by a guardian angel sign on a truck or the teachings of horseman Buck Brannaman, Templeton's lyrics capture the grit, grace, and emotional depth of the equestrian life.

A Chance Meeting of Hearts and Horses

The partnership between Stolen Horse International and Templeton Thompson began many years ago at an equine industry event. It was a classic convergence of advocacy and art: Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International, was there to speak, educating horse owners about theft prevention and recovery. In the same venue, Templeton was entertaining the crowd, sharing her stories and songs from the stage.

Amidst the bustle of the expo, their paths crossed. Debi was struck not just by Templeton's talent, but by the authenticity of her love for horses. That initial meeting forged a lasting friendship rooted in a shared mission: to protect and celebrate the horses that mean so much to us all. Over the years, this connection has grown, with Templeton and her husband, Sam Gay, becoming steadfast supporters of the NetPosse mission.

Gratitude to Templeton and Sam Gay

Stolen Horse International extends a heartfelt thank you to Templeton Thompson and her husband, producer and songwriter Sam Gay. Their generosity in allowing the organization to use their music—both for this year's holiday video and in years past—adds a powerful layer of emotion to the message. Sam and Templeton's continued support helps amplify the voices of victims and keeps the images of missing horses in the public eye during the season of miracles.
