UPDATE SEPTEMBER 9TH AT 6:14 PM by Dana Pietsch -
UPDATE! The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office arrested 2 people this morning and charged them with multiple felonies related to the attack on our horses. We can not thank each and every one of you enough for all of the support, well wishes, thoughts, prayers, and efforts you have put into finding the people responsible for this gruesome attack.

The Maricopa County Major Crimes Unit worked nonstop; following leads, gathering evidence, and investigating this crime.

At this time, we are working with the Sheriff's Office to determine which tip, or tips, resulted in the arrest of these two individuals. We will keep everyone updated through social media.

Thank you very much, and God Bless everybody!

Maricopa County, Arizona--Stolen Horse International-NetPosse Missing and Stolen Equine were alerted to this story by one of our NetPosse volunteers. It is a horrific story for the horses and the owners, and honestly, for all of us who love animals. What kind of people do this to animals?

The video can be disturbing and we recommend that you not watch it if you don't think you can handle watching what happened to the horses. Just click on the stop button while you are reading this article.

Dana Pietsch posted the video on YouTube on Friday, September 3, 2021, and the following account on your Facebook page on Friday as well.

She says the following on her Dana Pietsch Facebook account:

Wanted - CASH REWARD

Animal Abuse - Vandalism of Property - Trespassing

Early Thursday morning, September 2, 2021, between the hours of 12:58 am and 1:30 am...

The two individuals in the video clip below entered our property illegally through the horse arena.

They proceeded inwards towards the horse pens where they began physically assaulting the horses for over 30 minutes.

The black horse, 30 yrs old, was assaulted the most. They threw large river rocks at him and punched him in the face several times while he was locked in his pen. He could not escape from them.

The Palomino, 25 yrs old, was forced into her pen several times by them and also assaulted by these two individuals.

They are described as follows:

Both are White Males, between the approximate ages of 16-22

Suspect #1:
Had a blue shirt, tan bottom, blonde hair, appears to be between 5’ 7” & 5’ 9”, approximately 150lbs

Suspect #2:
Appears to have a light-colored top and pants, dark shoulder-length curly hair, dark-colored baseball cap with light-colored writing on it, appears to be between 5’ 10” & 6’, approximately 155 lbs.

I am assuming that they are local to the area, as there was no vehicle seen around the residence.

They also appear to be friends, so they most likely hang out often.

I am offering a, no questions asked, CASH REWARD for information that results in their arrest.

If you recognize these two, please contact MCSO, reference Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Report# IR 21-025481

Please know that this video may be very disturbing to some people, and may be hard to watch.

How are the horses doing now?

Dana Pietsch says in a comment on her Facebook page, "They do not appear to be permanently injured. But they are older horses, and the Black one is quite old and was killing himself trying to get away from those 2 "people". But overall, they are doing ok.
