Amadeus, a 17.1 hands tall grey Warmblood gelding with a distinct pink marking on his nose, was placed in the care of a trusted friend’s daughter during a difficult time in my life when I could no longer afford to care for him. This decision was made with love and the belief that he would be safe, supported, and well cared for.
Later, we were informed that Amadeus had passed away peacefully in his sleep and that a veterinarian had confirmed he did not suffer. However, no documentation, proof, or veterinary contact information was ever provided to verify this claim.
Since then, a lack of communication and unanswered questions have left us deeply concerned. Based on information that has come to light, we have reason to question whether the full truth has been shared.
The individuals involved refused to provide the name of the attending veterinarian, Amadeus’s ashes, or any cremation documentation (including a certificate from Utah State). These items were requested multiple times but were never provided.
Without clear answers, we are unable to find closure or peace. Amadeus was more than a horse; he was my heart and soul. Not knowing what truly happened to him has been incredibly painful. We are seeking honest answers and, most importantly, to know whether Amadeus is safe.
