It is with great sadness that we share that Reba McEntire, reported stolen from Lumber Bridge, NC on March 10, 2026, has been found deceased. Her body was discovered in the woods less than a mile from where she was taken.
This is not a case of a horse getting out on her own.
There is video footage clearly showing a man walking down the driveway to the barn, putting a halter on Reba, and leading her away down the paved road. Her tracks eventually disappeared�"and so did she.
On March 19th, 2026, Reba was found in the woods, gone far too soon. The exact cause of death is still unknown. Rosemary, Reba’s devastated owner, believes that because the local community quickly mobilized and began talking about the theft, those responsible may have killed Reba to avoid being caught. It’s also possible the thieves were simply cruel. Reba was close�"so close that had they simply turned her loose, she may have found her way home.
