Description: Sad Update: Reba McEntire, Lumber Bridge, NC (NetPosse Report #8966) - Stolen March 10, 2026, Found Deceased March 19, 2026 Read updates in the comment box section at the bottom of this webpage.

It is with great sadness that we share that Reba McEntire, reported stolen from Lumber Bridge, NC on March 10, 2026, has been found deceased. Her body was discovered in the woods less than a mile from where she was taken.
This is not a case of a horse getting out on her own.

There is video footage clearly showing a man walking down the driveway to the barn, putting a halter on Reba, and leading her away down the paved road. Her tracks eventually disappeared and so did she.

On March 19th, 2026, Reba was found in the woods, gone far too soon. The exact cause of death is still unknown. Rosemary, Reba’s devastated owner, believes that because the local community quickly mobilized and began talking about the theft, those responsible may have killed Reba to avoid being caught. It’s also possible the thieves were simply cruel. Reba was close, so close that had they simply turned her loose, she may have found her way home.

Rosemary shared with us:
“I can’t thank everyone enough who helped in any way. At least now I know where she is and don’t have to worry about how she’s being treated.”

Our hearts break for Rosemary and everyone who cared about Reba.

Stolen Horse International

This is one of the most difficult updates we’ve ever had to share. Reba McEntire (horse) was stolen from her home in the Lumber Bridge area of North Carolina on March 10, 2026. Security footage captured someone walking down the driveway and leading her away, though the person cannot be clearly identified. When her owner, Rosemary, returned home, she discovered the gate open, and the wire securing it had been cut, clear signs that someone had intentionally entered the property and removed Reba. Her family was shocked and deeply hurt that anyone could commit this act. For days, the community rallied, searching and hoping for her safe return. Tragically, on March 19th, Reba was found deceased in a wooded area less than a mile from her home. Evidence shows she had been tied to a tree and fatally shot the same day she was taken, a deliberate and cruel act against a trusting, defenseless animal. Rosemary believes that because the theft was widely discussed in the community, the person responsible may have killed Reba to avoid being caught. While the exact details remain under investigation, one thing is certain:

Someone committed this act! Someone knows who did it. Reba deserved a life of safety, care, and love, not confusion, fear, and violence.

Spread the word. Post the flyer everywhere. Don’t limit it to horse groups online. Reach people in the real world. Place flyers in gas stations, grocery stores, feed stores, churches, libraries, schools, veterinary offices, community boards, event venues, and anywhere someone might see it. You never know who may have witnessed something important. And here’s the part that weighs heavily. Someone out there knows exactly who did this. Choosing to stay silent is choosing to protect someone capable of committing this act. Think about Reba’s last moments, confused, scared, and helpless. No animal deserves that.
