Gratian, also known as Baby Grat, has been on a farm in Florida for precisely one year. I retired him from racing because he was sore. He is my forever horse, and I want him to live out his life happily and healthily.
VOLUSIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE POST: Mike Chitwood and Volusia Sheriff's Office: VSO detectives are investigating the theft of 4 horses from a property in Osteen, and we’re putting up a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. The horses are Slater (8 years old), R Chism (13), Snoop (19), and Gratian Hanover (13). Photos of Gratian Hanover and Snoop are attached. We are pursuing leads and working closely with our partners including the Department of Agriculture to find all 4 horses. My message to the suspects is that it’s only a matter of time before you’re caught, so your best course of action is to make sure no harm comes to these horses. It doesn’t matter where you go or how you try to cover your tracks. You’re going to get caught, and the consequences will be a whole lot worse if the horses were harmed. Again, a $10,000 reward is available. If you have information to assist in the investigation, email Det. Bartzer at MBartzer@volusiasheriff.gov, call 386-860-7030, or contact Central Dispatch at 386-248-1777
