Description: I acquired Athena from a friend in September of 2018. My friend was moving to a different state and was downsizing horses. I took over ownership of the filly with the agreement that I would pick her up in December after weaning. The mare & filly were being kept at what was my friends home under the agreement that they would be fine until we moved them in December. Well Sunday November 25th I was informed that my horse was sold without my knowledge and consent. I managed to track her down. I contacted the buyers who at the time was unaware she was sold illegally. They are fully aware of the situation now. However they are wanting 3-5x what they paid for her. I offered to pay them what they paid and for any vetting. They declined. I've informed them that she is stolen and that I will be pursuing this through the legal process. This is a warning to any potential buyers. Should they decide to try to sell/trade/giveaway her before court. This horse has been reported stolen and there is a active investigation and lawsuit. She is currently being boarded at a barn in NC. The person who has her from what I understand is in Smithfield NC.
