- Hello Facebook community. My name is Amber Sundheimer and I am in a situation with a family member of mine. Although this family member has four legs instead of two, this still means the world to me. In 2007, Simply became a part of the family. Fast forward to 2017, Simply arrived at her retirement home. At the age of 26 years old, two months ago Simply went missing. This is never a good sign for an older horse to go missing. From the day she arrived at the retirement home, there were many times my family and I asked to see her, and the answer was always no. Due to Covid and the circumstances the retirement facility gave to us, we didn't think anything of it. The day after Simply went missing, we asked to help search and look, and the answer was no. That they had it covered. At one point my family and friends were able to help go look, but it was cut short by the woman saying we needed to leave. Between the search and their Facebook posts, there have been different stories as to why Simply just up and left. One was that Simply jumped the fence, one was the fence was down and she got out, another was that an apparent animal communicator told them she had cancer and ran away to pass, and another is that there is a bear out there that spooked her and chased her away. After two months of being quiet and giving the people the space and time they asked to get her back, I have had enough of the games and wild goose chases. They have given up as they have posted on social media. This is not the first time Simply has gotten out at the retirement facility, there have been multiple times Simply has gotten out due to poor fencing. Simply was done jumping in her lifetime therefore fence jumping is not the first thought that comes across her mind. Simply had burnt herself on said fencing and luckily ended up in a veterinarian's backyard, yet the fencing was never properly fixed so she kept getting out. My family and I were notified long after this had happened. Simply is a chestnut Dutch Warmblood pony with a star, stripe, and snip on her face, two hind stockings, and a front sock. Simply was my first ever pony. She brought me from walking and trotting to my first ever clinic with Lendon Gray and to the many shows I am able to say I have under my belt. I know that the search cannot be over yet. She is a FIGHTER and strong-willed. Please bring my pony home. If there is someone that has her and just isn't coming forward, PLEASE reach out to me. If there are any sightings of her, PLEASE come to me. The last sighting from what I was told was Pine Plains/Stanfordville area. She can be anywhere. My phone number is (845)-750-1812. Call or text with any information. Please share.
