Name: Scarlett Gender: Mare Species: Horse Breed: Friesian Sporthorse Recovery Story 7/31/24 - Jennifer McCune Debi Metcalfe Hi Debi. I wanted to give you an update. You may remember that the man who unlawfully took Scarlett in 2021 while she was pregnant. After 3 years, an SC civil court found that Scarlett belongs to me, that I am not liable for any slander perceived on his part, and that I am entitled to attorney fees and damages. I had Scarlett and her baby shipped back to me from CA. Thank you. - Jen

From Camden SC Equestrians Facebook group: Well apparently some trolls have managed to slip through my membership questions: this post was purely to alleviate any fears that there was a random horse thief on the loose, but I'm afraid that *some* members felt it was their duty to cause drama and shame the already distraught owner. So I will be closing comments on this post, and remind everyone that if you can't play nice and offer something positive to this group you will be deleted and BLOCKED! THANK YOU to everyone who has shared the post about Scarlett and offered prayers and support! Her owner has asked if I would make an announcement on this page in case anyone has missed it through the numerous updates as a lot has happened in 24 hours: Scarlett was NOT taken by random strangers and she is in no danger of entering the auction pipeline. Other local and area horses are NOT at risk. Unfortunately Scarlett has basically ended up in a “custody battle” between her former owner and current owner, but she is safe, loved, and cared for. Please continue to send positive thoughts and prayers that she finds herself back home with her proper owner. Thank you!
