6-29-20 from owner Kim Elkins: As I reflect on the last 2 weeks of searching for Xena in the vast beauty of City of Rocks in Almo, Idaho I'm struck by the generous outpouring of support. Shelah & Natalie especially during the first few messy days, Heidi S, her sister & kids who spent day and night searching, Jen McCabe whose local knowledge was invaluable as she gave so much of her time with her awesome Odin & Bella and her husband Stephen who spent time hiking, Jen J who came down to hike the hills, Virginia who came down from Gooding twice to look with her horse pal Gumby and is working on more search parties. Merri and Connie who hiked numerous times, Savannah who checked the area with drones, all the local riders that were out searching, Tanya and her husband who hiked the area for miles, netposse and probably many others I don't even know about. Rich who came down to be our horse uber and loving support, Mark who flawlessly covered during crazy times at work, DJ who cared for our place/animals while we were gone, the friends who reached out to make sure I was staying sane, strangers that reached out to help. And a huge thank you to the town of Almo, never have I saw such empathy and caring from everyone I met, Tracy's General Store, Rock City Pizza, The Old Homestead, The City of Rocks Retreat, Almo Inn, City of Rocks National Preserve staff, the hikers & rock climbers that were happy to keep an eye out for her. And my best bud and Xena’s sister Royal who came down and trekked out daily without a complaint. I know that the search will continue even though I had to return to Spokane for now but I'm choosing to be positive and focus on her return. Xena will eventually come out of hiding and walk into a campsite looking for carrots! Thank you to everyone.
