Recovered EQUINE Mustang Sally

It is will much sorrow that we report that although Sally was successfully recovered, she passed away only 2 weeks later. Her owner suspects this was not an act of nature but of foul play. Jennifer has our deepest sympathies ~ NetPosse 5/19/06

Recovery Story:

Sorry I haven't gotten much time to get on here and post, I've been recovering from searching all week, getting attacked by that little stud and trying to wake up bright and early to make it to my vet  tech
program at my college. But thanks every one for supporting me.

So here's a summary of what happened after Sally was taken from her pen on 5-4-05 in the middle of the day Vanessa's parents home. Vanessa is the little girl I leased Mustang Sally to so she would
have a safe horse to ride while I voluntarily put training on her mustang gelding.

Sally is an almost bomb proof kids horse at a surprising age of 6. She's had 3 years of gymkhana and hundreds of hours on her so people have seen her around. The fence was pushed down, there were tracks leading to the road no where else. none of the surrounding roads had tracks or manure, as we walked and drove them many times.

We filed a police report, contacted all surrounding vets, and animal control, Along with alerting people on the internet and flyers. We searched the Valley Springs / Jenny Lind area for days

Sorry, I left out some details, I've been sooo tired from looking for my mare non-stop and I didn't think people would believe it.  We found her by combined information from a pet physic and my grandmother who can communicate with people that have passed.  Sounds crazy huh?

Although I found her while driving it was all by coincidence. Saturday night we gave up our efforts to look and decided to eat dinner with Vanessa's family and discuss our plans for finding Sally.  I was very upset, crying and frustrated. We drove to the store to buy soda, and I remembered what my grandmother told me, "Jennifer, look and look hard". I looked over at my Vanessa and said "I just want
to find my horse I'm so sick of this, it's hopeless",

About 5 seconds later I look up to the ridge of this hill and see the behind of a horse, " You really couldn't tell the horse was Sally, but my stomach twisted and I knew, so I jumped out of the truck, and took off running with Vanessa, cleared the gate and ran until my lungs burned, right pass the people on the property.

They tried to act as if they rescued her by saying "We don't know how she got into the gates, we've been feeding her since Tuesday.. you don't think we stole her do you?" Well they didn't call animal control or anyone at that, there was no manure on any of the roads or tracks.

After I caught Sally my mom and friends showed up, I have no clue if the people were dangerous, I was thinking .. my heart was racing and I just took off running for her with out thinking.

Geez and you think it would end there but no it gets better. The most wildest little stud pony attacks my mare.. but first slams into me, I'm glad Sally defended me by stomping the heck out of the pony.

Even after broken ribs he still came back for more. So finally Sally kicked him about 10 feet twisting him in the air and we made a run for it, down a steep hill about a mile and half long. I walked her home about 15 min to Vanessa's house and took her home the next day.

Here are some things that matched up with both the pet physic and my grandmother.

  • Blue-ish/gray truck
  • stock trailer w/ blue and green bumper stickers
  • "Box barn"
  • Older woman (grandmother) she was in her late 40's early 50's and she had driven by Vanessa with her truck and trailer before and after she had stolen the horse.
  • My grandmother also told us "Sunflowers" and the house was painted
    sunflower yellow.

By using a pet physic.. Sally told us she was in a "Box barn" which was there. She told us she would "raise hell" so they would let her out and that's how we spotted her on the hill. She also told us she hurt her hind left leg being unloaded out of the trailer, after getting her home I found it was true, she's fine just a little sore, as so am I (evil stud pony).

Thanks to the pet physic and my Grandmother, I hope that this gives people hope to find their horses and fill that empty spot in their heart.

Again we are pressing charges so they wont do this again and the other horses will be investigated and hopefully removed away from that evil little stud.. which is still running around with gashes and
broken ribs, I hope he gets some medical attention.. (we have a call into animal control, and if I hear they are stolen I will try to get pictures and info) thanks for your support.
