Saratoga County, N.Y. -- Charles "Dewey" Walling pleaded guilty to felony theft for stealing from St. Clement's Church and horse show will be sentenced in Saratoga County Court Monday April 2, 2012.
The Saratoga Springs man reported that he stole thousands of dollars from the church by falsifying souvenir sales.
Walling said he had stolen more than $33,000 over a six year period. He would order T-shirts to be sold at the horse shows, submit false invoices for an amount larger than the actual cost and would then keep the difference.
Walling is expected to pay restitution to the church and to receive six months in jail and five years probation.
