NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Bella, a yellow Labrador Retriever mix has sadly been found deceased after she was stolen with a truck at the Northwoods Boulevard Lowe's on December 22, 2019.
Bella, whose owner offered a $10,000 reward for her return, was found by her owner on the eastbound side of 52 Connector two weeks after she disappeared.
Surveillance footage from the Northwoods Mall sowed Bella leaping from the back window of the truck as it was being stolen.
The truck was spotted by the North Charleston Police on Thursday after the theft. Berkeley County deputies eventually arrested the driver, Richard Rawlings, Jr., in Cross and he was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. A $50,000 bond for Rawlings was set by a judge and Rawlings was ordered not to have contact with the owner of the vehicle.
A Facebook page was set up for Bella which quickly brought thousands of followers, volunteers to search for Bella, prayers, and sightings. The page also helped volunteers coordinate their search teams for Bella.
