Anne was also upset about a tear on her nostil that didn't seem to have been properly repaired and is now permanently split. Sabrina's shoes were pulled and hooves trimmed 10/30/08

Anne is thrilled to have her home and intends to keep and show her once she is fit again.

Sabrina will be back in Colorado by Thursday!

This situation had been ongoing for more than three years and the seller listed with NetPosse in August 2008. After being seen on NetPosse, the buyer began conversing with the seller again in attempts to work out arrangements to keep the mare. However, the buyer finally decided that it was in everyone's best interest to return Sabrina.

NetPosse had a direct hand in the securing Sabrina's recovery. Angela Kirby, NetPosse Executive Coordinator, became aware that the other party from Georgia would be at a local horse show in Alabama in October 2008. She was able to enlist the help of friends to obtain pictures of the paint mare. Sabrina was positively identified and confirmed as being in the possession of the buyer. Shortly afterward the buyer contacted Anne and offered to return Sabrina.

In less than a month from the time Angela was able to positively confirm that the buyer was still in possession of Sabrina, the mare was returned to home to Colorado. Anne emailed Angela upon Sabrina's arrival and was disapointed at the mare's overall condition (see update above). We look forward to the mare's continued improvement under Anne's care.

After handling dozens of civil cases, I can honestly say that this has the best outcome for everyone involved. Too often the buyer gets mad and wants to just get rid of the horse, especially if it develops any health issues, or they sell the horse for their own financial gain.

In those situations, everyone loses, and often the horse is never found - and if found, the owner might be unable to legally recover the horse since these are civil matters.

Anne appreciates all the help and support she has gotten from NetPosse volunteers and many others!
