SEARCHING FOR HORSE UF Krafty Damsel,

Message 1: We have found Damsel in Georgia! She was taken from Florida to Valdosta by a lady who bought her for her husband, but he couldn't ride so after a few months she passed Damsel on to a "friend" of hers thinking she would be nice for his wife (who also is not a rider) and apparently the guy got frustrated with Damsel's "trailering issues." The lady told me "I told him to be patient with her, but he just got frustrated." (Doesn't sound good!) She told me this guy then passed her on to "an old man who knows a lot about horses and he took her to be bred but it didn't take!" (She's 22 years old!) So I called the first guy and left a message, he called back and said "It's a good job you called as I was about to get rid of her." She's sitting on someone's sandlot. We're so lucky to have found her. I'm now trying to find a place in a sunny retirement/rescue home so I can go pick her up and take her there.

A Netposse volunteer in Georgia has emailed offering to help, which is great! The alerts have been great -- I'm waiting to hear back from a lady who cares for retired horses in Florida to see if she can help, too.

Message 2: … [She] has mentioned the possibility of Damsel being a companion to a 28-year-old horse she rescued, so we're looking at all the options for everyone! I was told that Damsel was "full of fear" so I'm worried about what kind of mental (as well as physical) state she's in and what might be the best situation for her.

It's wonderful how people are offering to help! Net Posse volunteers are fantastic!!!!
