DELAND -- Three days after Mickey, an award-winning miniature horse, vanished from the back of a local residence, its 6-year-old owner, Kiley Wannick, is still wondering what happened to her horse.

"We still have nothing," Kiley's mother, Kelly, said Saturday. "Hopefully someone will call soon with information."

The Wannicks are hopeful that now that their $500 reward was doubled by a Merritt Island resident, someone will be motivated to help them find Mickey.

"What touched me about the story is I believe all children should have the opportunity to bond with a horse," said Sandy Schetzen, an independent horse rescuer in Brevard County who matched the Wannicks' reward, bringing the total to $1,000. "I feel bad this little girl lost her pony."

Mickey vanished from the 300 block of Willow Avenue in DeLand around 10 p.m. Wednesday. He has a brown mane and a white dot on his forehead.

The reward has been offered for his return or for information leading to his safe return. For more information, call the Wannick family at (386) 804-7275 or Cory Wannick (386) 527-8300.
