KC Dies One Day After Being Rescued

KC, who was rescued on Saturday, has died. KC was missing for eight days in the hills of La Quinta, California.
It broke my heart to read the news that David Gordon sent to me by email yesterday. I had talked with him the day before and he was so excited about finding KC. I knew from our conversation that he had lost a lot of weight. His saddle was still on him when David found him on the mountain," says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International.
David said, "If we had not have found him when we did I don't know if he would have lasted another day." He was at the veterinarian's office so we thought he would be okay.
KC's owners say they don't know what caused his death. However, they do say that the animal was very weak when he was found.
The horse wasn't urinating, so his kidneys may have failed from being too dehydrated.
Gordon said when he saw KC Monday morning at the veterinarian, he looked at peace
