Recovered EQUINE Viejo Senor de Sipan,

This is to let everyone know that Larry & I have recovered Sipan. On June 29th he was taken from our ranch under false pretenses and sold to a person in Arkansas for $2000. We were told she knew she might not get his papers.

While in Arkansas he was bred to a Peruvian mare. We agreed to put that mare's name on Sipan's stallion report for 2003. The charges that were brought against us were dismissed. It was determined that our defense was strong enough that the person bringing the charges against us didn't stand a chance and her lawyer advised her to take our offer.

The agreement for his return is the same offer that was made several times in the past months. It is the same as the verbal agreement when we bought Sipan in January 2003. We had made an agreement and we were fulfilling that agreement when our "friend" was contacted by the one from Arkansas.

She had traced Sipan to her and didn't know she had already sold him to us. When I refused to sell him, Larry was contacted and ask if he would sell him. He told them that it was my decision. "NOT FOR SALE".

Some people can't take no for an answer. For a week or so she seemed to accept my decision and things went on as usual. We had agreed to let her breed back her mare to Sipan as part of the sales agreement. She proposed that it would be easier under the circumstances if she took Sipan to her place to breed her mare. I was not in very good health at that point and Larry had more than he could do. We thought it sounded like a sensible thing to do.

He left on Sunday June 29th and was gone from TX within days. The last time I saw him was the
first Sunday in July. Finally on Wednesday January 14 we took possession of him at our vets clinic in Weatherford. He was examined and tested and received a good report. Somewhat under his desired weight he is still the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. With GOD's help and the proper care we hope to be riding him in various places.

If any of you want to visit Sipan you will be more than welcome.

Thanks to many of you that gave us moral support and would have testified in our behalf.
Looking forward to another Grassland ride soon.
