The Texas Department of Public safety seized more than 300 pounds of marijuana found within a horse trailer on Friday, according to a news release.
A trooper conducted a traffic stop for an alleged traffic violation near Roma on Friday night.
The driver, Valentine Gomez, 38, was arrested after the trooper found 67 bundles of marijuana inside a horse trailer attached to Gomez's 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck.
Gomez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana amounting to 343 pounds.
The Rio Grande City man was booked into the Starr County Jail on the second degree felony charge
