An Update on Volunteers, Programs, and Hope for the Future

After our recent announcement about possibly discontinuing some programs due to a lack of funding and volunteers to handle daily tasks, something important happened — a few people stepped up.

We are incredibly grateful to those who reached out and offered their time, skills, and support. It reminded us why Stolen Horse International and NetPosse exist in the first place: community.

One program many longtime followers remember is our Case Manager Program, which was in place around 2016 and proved to be extremely successful. Case managers worked directly with horse owners, helping coordinate information, guide next steps, and connect victims with available resources. Because of that program, more horses were located and more victims received meaningful support during incredibly stressful situations.

Unfortunately, that program was eventually discontinued after it was intentionally undermined by someone who infiltrated it under false pretenses, causing harm to NetPosse and the people we were trying to help. As a result, we were forced to shut the program down and implement much stricter security measures for volunteers — measures that remain in place today to protect the integrity of our work.

We are happy to share some hopeful news: Pam, one of the individuals who previously helped oversee the Case Manager Program, is back on board. With her experience and dedication, she is working toward rebuilding the program safely and responsibly. While this will take time, her goal is to get the Case Manager Program up and running again.

When functioning, case manager volunteers play a critical role:
• Providing consistent support to horse owners
• Helping organize and track case details
• Assisting with outreach and follow-up
• Connecting victims with services and resources
• Allowing alerts and investigations to move more efficiently

Programs like this don’t just ease the workload — they help bring more horses home and ensure victims are not navigating these situations alone.

We are cautiously optimistic. Rebuilding takes time, trust, and community involvement, but steps are being taken in the right direction. Thank you to everyone who has shown support, volunteered, or simply shared our posts. You truly make a difference.
