We were in the process of purchasing this horse. The vet came to do the agreed pre-sale exam. The stable owner became hostile after I told her the new barn required one month quarantine (or at least keep the horse in a separate paddock until sure of no sickness present). When she found out about the extra blood-work we were gong to have done, she canceled the sale and threw us off the property. She was also angered that the vet said the horse would need booster shots due to no records in the past two years. When we went back to see if we could reconcile the sale agreement on 11/6, we were told the horse was not on the property, and was "being evaluated for sale". We also noticed there were no horses from the herd we saw two months prier. The horses that were there were all new. I recalled a strange sight from the day we had the vet there. All the horses were not in their regular pens. The entire herd was grouped like sardines in a holding pen close to the front driveway as if they were ready to be loaded on to a large truck (there were at least 20, maybe 30 of them gathered). I thought maybe they did this to clean the pens out, but now that they all disappeared, my biggest fear is that they were sent to auction.
