Berrish, Hamilton make appearances in horse theft case

July 5, 2012 - Two defendants in the case of the November 2011 horse theft from Southern Arkansas University appeared before Judge Larry Chandler Thursday in Columbia County Circuit Court.

George Berrish III of Ashdown was allowed to remain on house arrest with his father, with the condition that he pursue his GED. He is to return to court Jan. 31, 2013.

Deputy Prosecutor David Butler told the court that he suspected Berrish had violatedhis terms of house arrest. He warned Berrish that law enforcement officers will be checking daily, and if he is not at home a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
