August 28, 2011: MERCY HAS BEEN RECOVERED!
I spoke with Elise Rogers this afternoon on the phone and I want to share the good news with you.
“We went out around lunch time and headed toward the back edge of the property where there is a creek,” say Elise. “The horse that I was riding didn’t want to go over this tiny little creek so I was making a bit of a rukus. After about five to ten minutes of working with this gal we hear whinnying.”
Elise knew right away it as Mercy.
“I know that whinny. I know that’s my girl because she’s a talker.”
Elise and Cindy just started through the brush to where she was she came right out of the woods. She still had the lead rope and the halter had gotten off of her nose and it was around her neck. She had a few cuts from the briars.
“She looks really good. It was really windy and stormy here last night. I guess she just hunkered down in those woods. She’s in good shape, no worse for the wear and I’m just praising the Lord.”
NetPosse would like to thank everyone who helped. If you were searching on the ground, posting a flyer or passing along the information, you are part of this recovery. Thank you very much! Never underestimate the power of one! Mercy is home!
And finally from Elise, “Thank you very much or your help. It is a huge thing just to get it out there. Information is a powerful thing. There were so many people here that were looking for her which was really just a blessing to us. People were out there and trying to find her which you know is huge. We’re grateful to have her back and healthy and safe which is all that we have been praying for.”
