LOST/MISSING EQUINE, – ROXY – OREGON

Sheridan (Yamhill County), OR, Thursday, June 8, 2017

Roxy was last seen in the Moriah Lane area of Sheridian, OR on May 27, 2017 according to Charity Morgan. Her son was riding Roxy when she was spooked by a snake on the trail and ran. She is fully tacked, saddle and bridal.

Ms. Morgan asked Stolen Horse International for assistance in locating their horse. Ms. Morgan have notified the Yamhill County Sheriff Department and Animal Control of the lost horse.

Stolen Horse International, a nonprofit organization also known as NetPosse.com, is well known as the “lost and found’ place for horses on the internet for the equine industry. NetPosse.com offers horse theft and equine ID education and assist in search and recovery of stolen or missing horses, as well as other equine equipment.

“My son is heartbroken and we as a family can't rest until she is home and safe.”, says Charity Morgan, “There have been reports of her calling out whinnying, within the last week up Canyon Rd in Sheridan, Oregon.” Ms. Morgan went on to tell Stolen Horse International, that She has been missing for 10 days. Lots of predators for an innocent horse to contend with. So far they have had two organized searches on horseback and with 4 wheelers and have sent out two horses a day trying to track her. They have also rented a helicopter to do a fly over. They have contacted Yamhill County Sheriff Department and Animal Control regarding Roxy.

On June 8, 2017, Stolen Horse International, Inc. received the first online report on its web site, www.NetPosse.com, filed by Morgan and, in short order, began distributing the information via their NetPosse Alert (the horse community’s Amber Alert) on the Internet to hundreds of social media groups and private email contacts in an effort to rally the public to help the family.

You will find Roxy’s webpage with information and a printable flyer in her NetPosse.com listing, which is where any updates or leads will be posted. Anyone interested in helping can search for report number NR005256 or use this direct link on the NetPosse.com site: http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=5256

“Circulating the flyer for Roxy as well as the NetPosse.com Alert nationwide is imperative, as she could be anywhere by now. These flyers are one tool that brings home many horses and must be posted in as many public places as possible,” says Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “And remember, not everyone has internet access. Please post Roxy’s flyer in public places as well.”

Pictures, flyer, contact information, updates and other information are on the NetPosse webpage to identify this case quickly when calling in a tip. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Charity Morgan, Yamhill County Sheriff Department, Animal Control or Stolen Horse International with any information.
